Winemaker
G.W. Lussier
G.W. Lussier is an award winning winemaker who honed his craft making fine Pinot Noir at the famed Williams Selyem. He hales from St. Helena, in the Napa Valley, where he lives with his wife and daughter. A vintner in his own right, he releases a variety of Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc under his own label, Lussier Wines.
G.W. excels at producing “First Growth” terroir-driven wines from small, sustainable, organic/biodynamic farmed vineyards. He believes that the best wine comes from the most incredible sites, expressing their unique and exemplary terroir. He makes wine that aims to honor what those sites tell us and capture the best of what the land offers.
G.W. Lussier is a warrior poet winemaker. A veteran of two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan he knows teamwork and the toil and sacrifice required to do things that are greater than the individual man. He is a man “in the arena” to quote Teddy Roosevelt. G.W. believes in challenging the status quo, pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers in everything he does. He understands that nothing ventured is nothing gained. He thinks of wine making as a form of art that brings joy and gratitude to people’s lives.
G.W. and Ludovic make an inspiring team. Creative, energetic and passionate in the pursuit of excellence in their craft, with deep respect for the vintners who came before them and the partners they work with today.
Welcome to Black Oak Ridge wines.
I hope you enjoy these wines as much as I enjoy making them and sharing them with friends.
