Black Oak Ridge Ranch hosts experience available to be combined with stays or as stand alone adventures.
Foraging
Guided or unguided wild berry and mushrooming foraging is available seasonally. Late summer and early fall is berry season. Chanterelles from in January and February after the rains begin. Hire a guide or go it alone, with sturdy boots and back discover the bounty of the ridge.
Gastro Adventures
Anderson Valley’s bounty curated by renown local chefs make for exceptional farm to table gastronomic experiences. Combined with the variety of award winning wines produced in the valley, custom dinner party events are available for intimate parties of 2-4 or large tables of 20-40 guests.




Wild Game Harvest
Wild game is abundant on the ridge. The ranch and surrounding properties are available for guided and unguided hunts. Mountain & Valley Quail, Ruffed Grouse and Turkey game bird hunts can be attempted in season. These wild birds will test the best dogs and hunters. You need both stamina and skill to outwit these predator wary wild birds. The ranch also raises Pheasant, Bobwhite and Valley Quail for planted bird hunts more likely to yield successful harvests.
Bird Dogs & Training Camps
Proprietor Ludovic Lacourte raises and trains the bird dogs that roam these ranch lands. His current stable of German Shorthair Pointers are fantastic proven hunters. Raised and trained on planted birds, and finished on the wild quail of California and the grouse and partridge of the Dakotas and Montana, they are reliable field companions. Bird dog training, finishing, and bird dig owner training is also available upon request.
